Read Proverbs 15:1-2.

When someone in your presence is irritable or troubled, it is easy to respond with “the mouth of a fool.” What priorities could help you respond in such a situation softly?

Read Galatians 6:1-2.

Can you think of any incidences in which your mistakes were met with a less than gentle spirit? How did this affect you?

Why is it so necessary to respond to a hurting person with a spirit of gentleness?

Read I Peter 3: 1-9. (Focus on v. 9)

V.9 instructs that we are to give blessings to each other, specifically in our homes. Wives are to have a quiet and gentle spirit, husbands are to dwell with understanding, giving honor. What makes this teaching difficult at times?
