Recently when traveling through
Lufkin, Texas with my husband
and two daughters ages 9 and
13, we stopped for dinner
at a local restaurant. There
were no seats in the regular
dining area, so we had to
settle for a table in the
bar area, which was less comfortable
and desirable. In just a few
moments, a lady recognized
our predicament and said she
and her husband were leaving
the restaurant, so they offered
us their table. Our girls
had already begun entertaining
themselves so we said no thanks.
I had just leaned over to
my husband to comment on how
thoughtful the woman was when
another lady came over and
offered her table to us as
well. I couldnt believe
that two separate people had
noticed us and had been kind
enough to look after our welfare.
It looks like southern hospitality
is alive and well in Lufkin,
Texas.
